Killing An Arab. The Cure. Robert Smith, Michael Dempsey, Laurence Tolhurst. Charlotte Sometimes Single 1081. Robert Smith, Simon Gallup, Laurence Tolhurst. Big and moody, Staring at the Sea compiles some hits and near misses of these excavators of the dark soul. Beginning with their earliest hits-the sparse Killing an Arab, the aptly tedious 10:15 Saturday Night, and the charming Boys Don't Cry-this collection stops before the comparative giddiness of Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me. If you want to hear what The Cure sounded like before the 1986 KISS ME, KISS ME, KISS ME album came out, get this. It really has some good tunes on it . Standing on a Beach titled Staring at the Sea in CD format in some countries is a singles compilation album released by English rock band the Cure in May 1986, marking a decade since the band's founding in 1976. The album's titles are both taken from the opening lyrics of the Cure's debut single, Killing an Arab. The New Voice - New Mix of Boys Don't Cry released as a single little over a fortnight before Standing on a Beach was not included on the album thus the album's singles span only. Listen free to The Cure Staring At The Sea - The Singles Killing An Arab, 10:15 Saturday Night and more. 17 tracks 64:09. No matter how carefully crafted the Cure's individual albums were, their finest moments occurred on singles like these, when they distilled their essence into surprisingly catchy, but decidedly left-of-center, pop singles. Staring at the Sea not only selects highlights from their uneven early albums, it collects many of the group's terrific non-LP singles. It's a definitive retrospective of the Cure and is one of the finest albums of the '80s. Group Compilation. Songs in album The Cure - Staring At The Sea: The Singles 1986. The Cure - Killing An Arab.
